What is Domain Authority?
Domain Authority (DA) is a concept originally developed by Moz that predicts how well a website will rank on search engine result pages (SERPs). A Domain Authority score ranges from one to 100, with higher scores corresponding to a greater ability to rank.
While official tools use complex algorithms calculating the number of linking root domains, total number of links, and other factors, the core concept remains the same: a domain with high-quality structure, good TLD, and no spammy history is more likely to perform well.
How is DA calculated?
Search engines look at hundreds of signals. Our heuristic tool focuses on:
- Domain Length: Shorter domains are usually more premium and memorable.
- TLD Quality: Traditional extensions like .com and .net carry more inherent trust than cheap alternatives.
- Formatting: The absence of numbers and hyphens generally correlates with higher quality domain names.
